Give to Receive

Friday, February 29th, 2008

In my last post here, where I looked at a couple of handy ways to Steal a March on the Spammers, I was using a situation that seemed hopeless and created a useful resource from it. That sort of thing happens a lot in life in general and it can also happen a lot online too.

I know plenty of Internet Marketers who are banging their heads against a brick wall for lack of sales, or lack of traffic to their sites or a myriad of other “lacks” that are halting their make money efforts in their tracks. A lot of the time, these so-called lacks can be turned around by some simple alterations in the way we think and act.

Much is made of the ethos that you first have to give in order to receive, with very good reason.

It’s true!

I’ve noticed that on a personal level, for that’s really the only way to be sure of anything, that my own mode of working online is to give away every idea, method, technique and theory that finds its way into my head by writing about it in my own blogs and those that I guest write for. I don’t keep anything to myself because I truly believe that to be successful and make money online, you have to be honest and free with your knowledge.

When someone asks me if I know how to do a certain thing that they don’t (assuming I do, of course!) I quite happily tell them! I truly believe that for every snippet of knowledge I give away, more will come right back to me to help me make more money for myself.

Its fairly logical when you sit down and ponder over it.

Take all the “keep it to close to my heart” types that have probably already made their fortune online and are now just continuing to milk their lists for whatever they can get. But they’re the dinosaurs of the Internet and they’re running themselves into extinction by hoarding what they know to themselves.

Let’s take the logic behind what I’m saying.

When you give your knowledge freely and it helps several people to make some money online, especially if they’re just starting out, they’ll remember where that information originally came from and how it helped them.

At some point in the future, one or more of then are going to run across a great new way of making money that will eclipse all the old and probably defunct methods as the Internet evolves. Well, they might need a JV partner they can trust to help them turn their idea into a money making reality. Well, the guy that helped them get started was an honest, trusting guy - maybe he’ll be willing to join forces…

The rest is history, as they say.

Generosity will never shackle your efforts to make money online. On the contrary, it will be the making of your success.

Getting Started in Internet Marketing - Do You Have What it Takes to Succeed?

Thursday, February 28th, 2008

It is estimated that at about 80% of those starting out in internet marketing are not successful. The countless ads and hyped up success stories - and even the legitimate stories of success - don’t tell you that. Instead many offer up screen shots of their Paypal reports to prove daily earnings showing $100, $500, $1000 and even more. And they promise riches in 3 days or less if only you will do what they do and pay them to tell you how to do it.

I believe that the biggest part of winning is a matter of believing you can. Soon after starting an online business, those with common senses and good business sense - realize the need to dig in for the long haul. The fact is it usually takes time to build a business or perhaps more crucially, it takes time to achieve credibility. So forget about making it in a few days or weeks. It just isn’t going to happen for 99.9% of people.

Always remember that there are thousands out there doing the same thing you are and the only way to stand out is through creativity and unique ideas. Once you are a creator it will set you apart from your competition. It helps to be known as someone who writes his own articles, ads, press releases and blog posts. Even if you use the work of others for research you will stand out by doing so creatively and by adding your personal touch.

Internet marketing is a relatively new field, the new Wild West, and this causes many people to be enthusiastic and skeptical at the same time. Countless sales pages display pictures of houses, cars and checks to try to convince themselves and countless others that it is possible ! The reality is that it won’t happen overnight.

In today’s “instant gratification” society, most are not ready to commit the next few years of their lives to build a business, a business that would take them past their retirement age. For all of those who come to internet marketing with $$$$$ signs in front of their eyes, the reality soon bites hard! There is a long hard road ahead, of struggles and sacrifices. Once that sets in it brings out the best in everyone with a drive and commitment to success.

But still, success is entirely within the grasp of those who are willing to commit themselves to the pain of growth, hardship and learning. Knowing the reality of internet marketing with the hype removed and the facts in front of you are you prepared to give what it takes?

Simple Way To Increase Your Technorati Rank

Tuesday, February 19th, 2008

If you have a blog then chances are you want to know how to increase your Technorati ranking. The Technorati rank is an important number for blogs and the higher yours is, the more your blog is worth. There are plenty of ways to increase your Technorati ranking but I am going to show you one here that is very simple and can be done in a matter of minutes.

First of all, let me tell you a little more about Technorati and how the Technorati ranking works…

Technorati is the top tracker for the blogosphere. At the time of writing this, they are tracking approximately 113 million blogs and counting. They keep track of who is linked in the blogosphere sort of like how Google ranks sites based on link popularity. The more blogs that link to your blog, the higher your Technorati ranking will be.

The blogs that link to you don’t have to be related to yours or of any sort of quality. And that is why this simple strategy for increasing your Technorati ranking works.

Everyone hates content scrapers. They lie, steal, and cheat to get content on their blogs. This is usually quite annoying and worthless to the person who originally posted the content. However, there is one way you can use content scrapers to your advantage to increase your Technorati rank. You can’t stop them so you might as well get something out of it.

If you go read my last post you will see that it has no place on this blog and doesn’t give any real useful information. You will also see that I wrote in red that there was a reason for the post that I would explain later. Well, that is what I am doing right now.

You see, content scrapers really like to scrape posts that are technical in nature because ads in those industries usually pay higher. So they can make more money from stealing that content than from most other blog posts.

Once again if you read that last post you will see that I put a link to one of my other blogs in the beginning of the post and another link towards the end of the post. Now, when the content scrapers steal my content they will be giving me links back to my blog. This will, in turn, help to increase my Technorati ranking!

Now I am at least getting something in return from those who steal my content. It’s actually a very good idea to put a link back to your blog in the first paragraph of all your blog posts. So, if scrapers steal any of your posts you will get a link back from them. It’s a heck of a lot better than not getting anything in return!

There you have it, a simple way to increase your Technorati ranking. You now know how to increase your Technorati rank. Of course, it’s always better to increase your Technorati rank through other legitimate bloggers actually linking to you but every little bit helps.

On a similar note, here is a post I wrote on another one of my blogs about How To Fake Alexa Rank.

Armed with these two posts you will be able to increase the value of your blog quickly and easily!

Keeping Your Personal Information Safe While Applying For Work At Home Jobs

Monday, February 18th, 2008

If I find a good job lead, I will post it on several work at home forums with the word “Unresearched” in bold. Of course it simply means the job lead hasn’t been well…researched. A lot of scammers are very good at making a not-so-legitimate job very legitimate sounding which is why doing your own due diligence is so very important. A lot of times people will respond to my post with “Thanks for the great job lead! I applied.” Wait a second! Back up! You said you applied?

At this point, I’m hoping they saw the first and bold word Unresearched at the top of the page before jumping in with both feet and shooting off an email with all their personal information on it.

First, you should only have your first and last name and email address on your resume unless you’re 150% sure it’s a reputable and legitimate company. Too many times people have provided sensitive information that ended up in the wrong hands. It’s much too late to think of it after the fact.

Here are some ways to start your research.

*Check with BBB.org to see if there are any complaints. If they aren’t listed it doesn’t necessarily mean they are good to go.
*Check with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC)
*Check the company for a physical location. A legitimate company will freely provide street address and telephone number.
*Check to see if they have a website. Sometimes a website will have red or warning flags if it isn’t legit such as grammar and spelling errors, poor English etc.
*Ask around various work at home forums if anyone has/had any experience with them.
*Check the company’s references. Request a list of their employees or ICs or contractors and then contact them and ask how it has worked for them.

These are just a few ways and the most important one to live by? If it sounds too good to be true, then it usually is.

Remember, never give your social security number, credit card, passport information or DL to anyone unless it is requested and you know for sure it’s the real deal and you’ve been hired.

To your success,

iPhone iPod Blackberry Bluetooth Laptop Wireless Gadgets

Thursday, February 14th, 2008

iPhone iPod Blackberry Bluetooth Laptop Wireless Gadgets are what this post is all about. I decided to take a break from my free money making advice to talk about the iPhone, iPod, Blackberry, Bluetooth, Laptop, and other Wireless Gadgets. Many of these cool wireless gadgets are made from Apple, Verizon, LG, Dell, T-Mobile, Motorola, and Sony.

Before I get too far with this post I want to let all my regular readers know that there is a reason for this post. No, I didn’t just go crazy and start posting about iPhone iPod Blackberry Bluetooth Laptop Wireless Gadgets. I will explain why I posted this later on in a different post. Just bear with me for now. Thanks!

Everyday our lives are changed with more and more wireless gadgets. Most of us don’t even remember what we did before cellphones, laptops, and internet became a normal part of our existence. And it seems nowadays you buy a cool wireless gadget and the next day it is already outdated because there is a better one out.

This is especially true with things like the Apple iPhone and Laptop computers. As soon as you buy a new iPhone there are upgrades available for it that you need so you have to spend more time and money on them. Also with laptops you won’t have it for more than a few months before there is a better one available. Of course you don’t really have to upgrade your laptop as much unless you want to stay on the cutting edge of technology.

Another big problem with the iPhone is that you can only use it if you have the AT&T network so that limits most people because the majority of people use Verizon, T-Mobile, or one of the other major wireless networks. Personally I like LG and Motorola because they make lots of different cell phones and cool gadgets that can be used in our daily lives.

With all of us talking on our cell phones and using our other wireless devices so much throughout the day, it’s great that we have gadgets like the Bluetooth to make it much easier on us. You can use your bluetooth with all sorts of things like cell phones, laptops, computers, printers, digital cameras, video game consoles, and much more.

Then you have the Blackberry so you can virtually take your entire office with you and run your business from anywhere in the world. You can e-mail, call, text, fax, and browse the web right from your blackberry. With the blackberry you have all the wireless devices you need right in the palm of your hand.

And how many of us could get through our day without listening to music? Most of us would go crazy if we had to sit in silence all day. That is where the Apple iPod comes in. The ipod is a lifesaver of the music industry. We now have all of our music stored in one place that can be easily taken with us everywhere we go. I love my ipod, I listen to it all the time when I am writing my free home business tips!

The mobile wireless industry is getting bigger every day and it is amazing to see how many new cool wireless gadgets are being invented all the time. Think about how convenient it is to use iPhone iPod Blackberry Bluetooth Laptop Cell Phone and other Wireless Gadgets. Our lives have been changed forever by these products and if they were all taken away right now we wouldn’t know what to do.
