I love this time of the year. Why? Because it allows me to pull out all my magic tricks and make some extra money. How? My goodness, there are so many ways I can’t even count. What I’m going to do in this article is give you a few of my favorite ways to generate some extra cash during this time of the year. As a matter of fact, this will work for any holiday at all.
If you’re a product creator, the best way to make some extra cash during Halloween or any other holiday is by running a sale for your list. Pick out a few of your products and run a special. A good rule of thumb is to run them for at least 50% off. That way you’re certain to get quite a few sales. Make sure you run the sale ONLY until the end of the holiday and don’t run it more than 2 days before. This way you instill a sense of urgency as your list won’t have that much time to decide if they’re going to take advantage of it or not. This is a standard copywriting tactic that works quite well.
Another thing you can do is take out a solo ezine ad in a competing ezine in your same niche. Many ezine owners rent out ad space. If you get a large enough list, you can make quite a killing, even if the ad itself is a bit pricey. Of course what you can do, and this is what I do many times, is barter with the ezine owner. You offer to write a series of articles on the subject in exchange for the solo ad. The worst that can happen is they say no. Many times, they will say yes.
Finally, you can head on over to the freelance sites and offer your services on special. Let’s say you charge $50 for a WordPress install. You can run a half price special where you charge just $25. You’ll be surprised how many people out there are clueless as to how to install a WordPress blog and will be more than happy to pay you for it.
These are just a few of the ways that you can make some extra money before the holidays.

One of the best ways to make money online is by selling advertising on your website or blog. If you have built up a popular site then it’s pretty easy to find people who will pay you to advertise on it. I’ve made thousands of dollars from people buying advertising on my websites.
Part of the allure of selling advertising is that the income is residual. You pretty much know how much you are going to make each month and you don’t always have to be hoping for affiliate sales, Adsense clicks or other ways you make money from your website via your visitors performing an action. Sure you will probably have some advertisers cancel each month and have to find new ones to replace them but for the most part income from selling advertising is consistent.
There are services out there that will help find advertisers for you but they will take a percentage of the earnings. One popular service that does this is Text-Link-Ads.com usually referred to as TLA. These services can be good because they make it a lot easier to find advertisers. However, I don’t use them because I like to get all the money from advertisers on my sites and I want to be in control of who is advertising on my sites. Plus, Google doesn’t like these services so they might take away your PR and drop your rankings if they find you are using them.
Personally, I like to find the advertisers myself so I don’t have to worry about losing any of the revenue or having the possibility of links being placed on my site to websites that I don’t want on there. This is more work because once you find them you have to take the payments, put up their ads and keep track of them. But it’s not very hard if you get a good system in place.
Here are some things I have learned about how to make money online selling advertising since I started doing it about three years ago:
* Be specific on what your advertising options and prices are. A confused advertiser will either not pay you to advertise on your site or they will complain later because they didn’t get what they thought they were paying for. If you look at one of my advertising pages – work at home advertising – you will see that I laid out exactly what they get and how much it will cost.
* Offer a lot of options. Again if you look at one of my home business advertising pages you will see that I offer 11 advertising options. Having more options increases the chances that you have an option that will fit the needs of most potential advertisers. You can’t make money selling advertising if you don’t have options that people want.
* Set the right price. It’s difficult to know exactly how much you should be charging but you want to get it close because if you overcharge you will lose advertisers and if you undercharge you won’t be maximizing your earnings. Take a look at what other sites in your niche with similar traffic as yours are charging and go from there.
* Only accept certain ads. You don’t want to have ads and links on your site to other sites that aren’t even remotely related to yours. You also don’t want bad neighborhood or banned sites linked from yours. Be sure to state on your advertising page what sites you will and won’t accept. And check each new advertiser’s site before accepting the ad. Deny them and refund their money if you need to.
* Don’t be sneaky. You must give your advertisers what they pay for. Don’t cut their ad time short, or hide it, or do anything else sneaky and unethical. You will lose advertisers very quickly if you do this. You can’t make money if your advertisers are mad.
* Keep track of the ads. You don’t want to accidentally remove an ad that shouldn’t be deleted or keep an ad up long after they have cancelled. Make sure you know which ads are supposed to be up and which need to be taken down.
* Put the ads up quickly. When an advertisers pays for a spot on your site you should get the ad up very quickly. They have already paid for the spot for a specified amount of time and you are wasting their money if you don’t put it up right away.
* Promote your advertising. You can’t make money selling advertising if nobody knows they can buy ads on your site. You should actively promote that you allow advertising on your site/blog. Get keyword anchored inbound links to your advertising page so you can rank higher in search engines, tell other site owners in your niche, put links to it in forum signatures and blog posts, etc… Any way you can to get the word out.
That’s basically all there is to it. Now you know how to make money online selling advertising. It’s one of the best ways to make money from your website or blog and I highly recommend it as an additional source of income.

With the crappy economy, things were looking pretty lousy for the month of October, which still has a week to go as of this article. Sales were down and I was down. It had been a long time since I had run into a spell like this. But I wasn’t going to let it defeat me. I was determined to figure out how I could salvage this month.
So I sat down and thought. What does my target market want? I mean, what do they REALLY want? Well, they want to make money. That’s the bottom line. But they don’t want to kill themselves to do it. They want to come as close to pushing a button as they can and have the money appear.
Okay, as unrealistic as that is, I thought about it a lot. Was there anything that I did that was even close to pushing that button…something that anybody could do? Well, I went through my arsenal of stuff and found something that I did that was pretty fast and easy income. I was fairly certain that anybody could do this.
The next step was to go through the process and see if I could explain it in simple to understand English. More importantly, could I explain it so that it was in step by step format that anybody could follow? I realized that I could do this so I actually walked through the entire process, writing everything down as I went.
After I had the whole process written, I then made videos of it. This was to add value to the package.
I then created my sales page and priced this at a price that would make it impossible to turn down. See, offering a great product is one thing, but when you do that in combination with an amazing offer, that’s when you have a winner on your hands.
I then put together my payment processing and uploaded everything to my server. I then ran my offer.
Inside of 6 hours I had made over 2K. Not bad for a $15 product.
The point is, I understood my market. I knew what it was that they wanted and I gave it to them. The response to this offer has been amazing and still is.

Understand what your market wants. Once you do that, you’ll start making sales on a regular basis.

Make Money TODAY…You Heard Me…TODAY!
Let’s face it. That’s what we all want. We want to make money right now, today. We don’t want to wait for tomorrow. Hell, with the way this world is, tomorrow may never come. Let’s be honest, the economy sucks, we have two idiots running for the White House and we have lending institutions giving loans to people who can’t afford to buy a loaf of bread. But we want to make money NOW.
Well, I’ve been wrestling with this problem for a very long time, and I was the first one to get on my high horse and say that it just wasn’t possible. Well, I guess I am going to have to eat a little crow here, because I was wrong. Yes, I was wrong. It is possible to make money right away…as in today.
Now, don’t get me wrong. I’m not talking about making a 6 figure income in one night or even in a few months. But I am talking about putting some things together on Monday and by the end of that day, actually seeing money come into your account. Just because I couldn’t figure this out until 5 plus years into my marketing life doesn’t mean it’s not possible. I have finally realized that it is.
Having said that, some of the methods I’ve discovered are a little more complicated than others. Some, fortunately, are VERY simple. That’s why I had to be very selective about putting together any information on this subject. I didn’t want to give people false hopes or lead them down a path that was going to be too difficult to follow.
Perhaps you’ve heard of Google Hot Trends. Maybe not. I don’t know. But this is something that I recently got into and experimented with. In doing so, I had to iron out a few kinks. See, Hot Trends is just that. It’s what people are most interested in right now.
The main problem with these Hot Trends is that they change very quickly and they don’t last very long. So you have to hop on them right away. That means keeping your eyes on them. But once you know what to look for and what to jump on, the money starts to come in THAT DAY.
The key is knowing how to take advantage of these Hot Trends. How can you make the most of them? How can you get people to your site without cost and right away? That’s what took me some time to figure out. Once I did, the rest was easy.
If you’re interested, I’ve put together a great book on this subject that I think you’re going to love. I’m practically giving it away because I want this to be within the reach of just about anybody…even if you’re dirt poor. And yes, these methods won’t cost you ONE DIME.
Hot Trends can give you a quick income that day.
You just have to know what to look for.

Well, it’s certainly the hot topic of the day. If you watched the debates last night, you saw two guys trying to keep people from jumping out of second story windows. It wasn’t a pretty site. No, I’m not going to get into a debate about who the better candidate is or even if we have a good candidate (many feel we don’t) but I am going to ask you a question.
Is YOUR business recession proof? In other words, no matter how bad things get, will your business survive? I know mine will. But why? How do I know?
It all comes down to creating something on a solid foundation. Okay, what exactly IS that solid foundation? And trust me, it’s more than about web sites and advertising.
What I’m talking about is demand. The greater the demand for something, the less likely that it’s going to be hurt by a recession. But what’s in demand? What are the things that people can’t live without no matter how bad things get?
Well, you’ve got food, shelter, clothing and medical care. But I seriously doubt many IMers are into those niches. Okay, what’s on the next level of the demand scale?
Problems…real problems. And make no mistake about it, there are plenty of problems in this world. And what might seem like something minor to you might be the end of the world to another person.
For example, let’s say a kid is getting ready for his senior prom and the night before, he finds a zit right on the middle of his forehead. Think he’s not going to be in a panic? He doesn’t want his date to see him like that. Think he won’t pay just about anything for a cure that will work overnight? Of course he would. I’m not saying one exists, but if if did, that would certainly be a hot seller.
Point is, there are many problems in this world and if you can come up with a real solution to one of those problems and not just snake oil, you have a very good chance of developing a business that will survive during the very worst times.
It all comes down to product creation. In my signature, you’ll find a link to a great book on this subject. My friend Justin Michie and myself have perfected the art of product creation and everything you’d ever want to know about the subject is in that book.
So, is YOUR business recession proof?
