Understanding What Your Market Wants

With the crappy economy, things were looking pretty lousy for the month of October, which still has a week to go as of this article. Sales were down and I was down. It had been a long time since I had run into a spell like this. But I wasn’t going to let it defeat me. I was determined to figure out how I could salvage this month.

So I sat down and thought. What does my target market want? I mean, what do they REALLY want? Well, they want to make money. That’s the bottom line. But they don’t want to kill themselves to do it. They want to come as close to pushing a button as they can and have the money appear.

Okay, as unrealistic as that is, I thought about it a lot. Was there anything that I did that was even close to pushing that button…something that anybody could do? Well, I went through my arsenal of stuff and found something that I did that was pretty fast and easy income. I was fairly certain that anybody could do this.

The next step was to go through the process and see if I could explain it in simple to understand English. More importantly, could I explain it so that it was in step by step format that anybody could follow? I realized that I could do this so I actually walked through the entire process, writing everything down as I went.

After I had the whole process written, I then made videos of it. This was to add value to the package.

I then created my sales page and priced this at a price that would make it impossible to turn down. See, offering a great product is one thing, but when you do that in combination with an amazing offer, that’s when you have a winner on your hands.

I then put together my payment processing and uploaded everything to my server. I then ran my offer.

Inside of 6 hours I had made over 2K. Not bad for a $15 product.

Make Money NOW! Yes, Right Now…As In TODAY!

Let’s face it. That’s what we all want. We want to make money right now, today. We don’t want to wait for tomorrow. Hell, with the way this world is, tomorrow may never come. Let’s be honest, the economy sucks, we have two idiots running for the White House and we have lending institutions giving loans to people who can’t afford to buy a loaf of bread. But we want to make money NOW.

Well, I’ve been wrestling with this problem for a very long time, and I was the first one to get on my high horse and say that it just wasn’t possible. Well, I guess I am going to have to eat a little crow here, because I was wrong. Yes, I was wrong. It is possible to make money right away…as in today.

Now, don’t get me wrong. I’m not talking about making a 6 figure income in one night or even in a few months. But I am talking about putting some things together on Monday and by the end of that day, actually seeing money come into your account. Just because I couldn’t figure this out until 5 plus years into my marketing life doesn’t mean it’s not possible. I have finally realized that it is.

Having said that, some of the methods I’ve discovered are a little more complicated than others. Some, fortunately, are VERY simple. That’s why I had to be very selective about putting together any information on this subject. I didn’t want to give people false hopes or lead them down a path that was going to be too difficult to follow.

Perhaps you’ve heard of Google Hot Trends. Maybe not. I don’t know. But this is something that I recently got into and experimented with. In doing so, I had to iron out a few kinks. See, Hot Trends is just that. It’s what people are most interested in right now.

The main problem with these Hot Trends is that they change very quickly and they don’t last very long. So you have to hop on them right away. That means keeping your eyes on them. But once you know what to look for and what to jump on, the money starts to come in THAT DAY.

The key is knowing how to take advantage of these Hot Trends. How can you make the most of them? How can you get people to your site without cost and right away? That’s what took me some time to figure out. Once I did, the rest was easy.

Is Your Business Recession Proof?

Well, it’s certainly the hot topic of the day. If you watched the debates last night, you saw two guys trying to keep people from jumping out of second story windows. It wasn’t a pretty site. No, I’m not going to get into a debate about who the better candidate is or even if we have a good candidate (many feel we don’t) but I am going to ask you a question.

Is YOUR business recession proof? In other words, no matter how bad things get, will your business survive? I know mine will. But why? How do I know?

It all comes down to creating something on a solid foundation. Okay, what exactly IS that solid foundation? And trust me, it’s more than about web sites and advertising.

What I’m talking about is demand. The greater the demand for something, the less likely that it’s going to be hurt by a recession. But what’s in demand? What are the things that people can’t live without no matter how bad things get?

Well, you’ve got food, shelter, clothing and medical care. But I seriously doubt many IMers are into those niches. Okay, what’s on the next level of the demand scale?

Problems…real problems. And make no mistake about it, there are plenty of problems in this world. And what might seem like something minor to you might be the end of the world to another person.

For example, let’s say a kid is getting ready for his senior prom and the night before, he finds a zit right on the middle of his forehead. Think he’s not going to be in a panic? He doesn’t want his date to see him like that. Think he won’t pay just about anything for a cure that will work overnight? Of course he would. I’m not saying one exists, but if if did, that would certainly be a hot seller.

Point is, there are many problems in this world and if you can come up with a real solution to one of those problems and not just snake oil, you have a very good chance of developing a business that will survive during the very worst times.

How To Survive The Economic Crisis

Well, the secret is out. The US economy is in the toilet and everybody is in a panic. Well, almost everybody. I’m having another record breaking year and even though sales were down in September, I still broke 10K for the month. How did I do it? Well, that’s a long story and not one that’s going to come from one article, but what I am going to share with you now are a few things to get you through this crisis.

At the top of the list is just that…your list. If you’re into Internet marketing for a while, you’ve no doubt signed up for quite a few programs and services. Some of them, you probably don’t even use anymore, if ever. Well, it’s time to cut the strings. Cancel your memberships and programs that aren’t providing anything of value to you. Just sit down and ask yourself this question. “What am I getting from this thing?” If you can’t find an answer that makes sense to continue using the service, get rid of it.

Another thing you should do is look out for bargains. Now that things are really tough, vendors are running specials on some great products and services that can really help you. If they’re smart, they’ll show you EXACTLY how these products will help you. If they can’t do that, you don’t need them. Trust me on this.

Then there is the stock market. Stocks are at an all time low now and there is no where to go but up now that the bailout has gone through. Now is the time to look at a solid stock that had been doing well prior to the crisis and buy a few shares. If you see the price is starting to rise, buy a few more shares. This is a great time to make a quick killing on Wall Street IF you play it smart.

As far as your everyday living, before you buy ANYTHING, ask yourself one question. “Do I REALLY need this?” If the answer is no, don’t get it. Make sure your business is prospering first before you go throwing your money around.

Caught In The Web

That is Web 2.0. Are you apart of it? Blogging, social networking, social bookmarking etc.?

Blogging has to be one of the easiest things to do especially when there are free sites to do it on. Blogger.com is extremely user-friendly and super easy peasy. You can literally have a blog created in just five minutes. As a matter of fact, that’s what Blogger.com states. You don’t have to be HTML savvy…just know how to type in the box provided and when you’re done click on the publish button.

Because blogging is so easy, there are thousands of business-type blogs created each day, but there are also thousands of abandoned business-type blogs that haven’t been updated in months or years. Why? Simply because it takes time and commitment. I understand unforeseen circumstances can work its way into your family life and my family is my number one priority and I would drop my business in a heartbeat. If this scenario doesn’t pertain to you, then there’s no excuse.

Now we know blogs can drive traffic to your business and more people are creating blogs for this purpose, but if you’re going to be half committed then blogging is going to be useless to you and your business. Do you half commit to your business? What you put in is what you will reap in rewards. Do nothing and you will make pennies, if that.

Instead of jumping on the Web 2.0 bandwagon with the likes of social networking and blogging, know your limitations and what you can handle. Find your target market, find your niche and be consistent. Spreading yourself too thin isn’t beneficial in any way and it does more harm than good.

Don’t get caught up with Web 2.0 if you can’t commit to its responsibilites. Time, consistency and commitment is what will drive your business to the next level.  When you’re ready, social networking and blogging will still be there waiting for you, ready to take you into its web.
