Anyone searching for a way to earn a living from home has come across a countless number of opportunities to search through. Even if they do make the right decision it is not at all guaranteed they will find success. Not at all!
There are so many reasons why people fail when they start a home business and I don’t have the time (or the space) to name them all. I’ll get to that in time. I promise.
One significant reason is the absence of a good mentor(s). I can’t emphasize enough how important this is to get anyone going on the right track in the beginning (and throughout frankly).
Starting a home business can be daunting for anyone but especially so when a newbie invests there money and has dreams and a plan to make this all happen. Unfortunately, the plan probably has nothing to do with the real way to find success with your business.
Here comes the mentor to save the day. A good mentor which could mean a sponsor in a program, another affiliate in the same program, or a group of people in a forum can point the newbie with the dream in the right direction. They will teach the newbie about some of the truly important aspects of marketing such as creating backlinks, blogging, writing articles, optimizing your website and all those things that the newbie did not imagine. Remember the newbie had a dream and it probably looked more like someone on a beach with a drink somewhere near as well as their laptop.
Seriously though, it is truly important to find a good mentor and one can do that pretty easily if you know a program you would like to more about. Check out most business forums and they will have threads on that program where you can read who posts, what they say and the general attitude of the individuals. Read everything you can and start to ask questions. Look at the kind of responses you get and who gives a thoughtful response and who does not respond at all.
If you do see one or two individuals who seem to be the type of person you would like to be your mentor, you can send them a private message (PM) and ask them a few questions. See how responsive they are and if they are willing to help. Technically, you are really interviewing them and you can choose the kind of person you want for the job. Hey, the shoe is on the other foot now!
Make sure when dropping that money down and prepping for your dream, you take all this into account. Your success might not be guaranteed, but your chances of success will be much, much greater.
Until the next time,

How many articles have you read, websites you’ve seen and posts on blogs that are purely sales pitches? Is it always hype that makes the sale or has the time come when its more important to be a little more personal?
I don’t consider myself to necessarily be a great salesperson. As a relatively new marketer I have found success by making a connection with people who read my blog, articles etc. Don’t get me wrong, there is a sales component but when you love what you do and love what you have the opportunity to share with others then people feel the connection. They do not feel they are being fed a sales pitch and begin to feel a more trusting relationship with you. That is the key because now you are approachable.
I like to write in a manner that I am speaking to a friend of my progress. I always let people know in my posts they can contact me by leaving a comment and they will definitely get a response and I will tell them all they want to know. I have had many people write comments asking for help, advice and want to learn more about my programs. My conversations with those people are even better.
I personally feel its important to be really honest. Honesty shows through. People can feel it and are drawn towards you instead of the many people who are promoting exactly the same program you are promoting. People seeking home businesses are becoming more savvy and many have been burned before. They are wary and rightfully so. If you give them the opportunity to connect with you then you potentially have a loyal downline member for good!
There are so many ways to make a home business work for you but I believe its key to show who you are, keep it real and be approachable. You’ll be receiving those emails, inquiries and sign ups in no time.
Take care,
Laura

Well, I’m going on a rant…yet again. I find it amazing that when people drop the ball when it comes to their own business, they always look for somebody else to blame. Well, you can look no further than your mirror because the person you’re staring at is the ONLY one to blame.
True story. A guy over at a forum where I hang out made a post about how his hosting company screwed up by not sending him an email about his domain renewal. As a result, the domain lapsed and he lost it. Well, I don’t mean to be a royal pain in the backside but there is only one person responsible for keeping track of when your domain comes up for renewal…you.
I have a spreadsheet with all my important pieces of info, including logins and passwords, domain renewal dates, commissions owed and due, and so on. I don’t leave anything to chance or in the hands of others. It’s my business and ultimately, I’m the one responsible for making sure that my business doesn’t crumble to dust because I forgot to watch over it.
It’s kind of like needing somebody to remind me to feed my kids or they’ll die. Well, duh! It isn’t anybody else’s responsibility to remind me to feed my kids or take care of my business…or anything in my life for that matter. Ultimately, I am the only one responsible. In other words…the buck stops here.
What about you? Do you take care of all the things you’re responsible for? Do you keep track of domain expirations? Do you track your commissions that are owed you? Yeah, I know it would be nice to have the merchants pay us on time, but when they don’t, it’s up to us to contact them and say, “Hey, what’s the deal? Where’s my money?” Nobody is going to do it for you, that’s for sure.
Show me a person who is very successful and I will show you somebody who takes care of his own business and doesn’t leave it to others or to chance. That’s a sure fire way of losing your shirt.
Now if you’ll excuse me, I have some deadbeat merchants I have to get after for commissions that are owed to me.
Hey, somebody’s gotta do it.
To YOUR Success,

The Real Truth About Making Money Online Videos

There are thousands of people who call themselves “internet marketers” sitting at their computers right now with the intentions of making money online. However, most of them will not make any money, or if they do make some money, it’s won’t be nearly as much as they were hoping to earn.
So, why is it that so many internet marketers are not making money?
It’s because most of them are simply wasting their time when they are “working” online! There are countless ways this can happen. Often times when internet marketers think they are working, they really aren’t. One example is checking your email 20 times per day. I could go on and on giving you examples of how you are wasting your time each day but instead I challenge you to sit back and think about that for yourself.
I will, however, tell you that one of the biggest things internet marketers do to waste their time is blogging. I bet that got your attention! You have been conditioned to think that blogging is vital for online business so you are probably wondering why the heck I would say that it’s a waste of time and will not make you any money.
Here’s why…
In order to make money online, you need traffic to your website or blog. There is no way to get around this fact. However, when you spend all day writing blog posts, you forget to do one very important thing… Market your blog! As an “internet marketer” the most important part of your job is to market.
You can have the best blog in the world with more original content than all ten of the top blogs in your niche, but that means nothing if you don’t get any visitors. Your site might contain the secret to life, but if nobody knows about your site they will never read it. Do you see what I mean? Unless you get visitors, you won’t make money!
But you can’t just get any kind of traffic either. You don’t want untargeted traffic. You don’t want Web 2.0 traffic. You don’t want other internet marketers and bloggers as your main source of traffic. Why? Because those are the people that won’t click your ads, buy from your affiliate links, or even notice any of the things you have on your site that will make you money.
You need to get traffic from the search engines! The visitors you get to your website/blog from search engines are targeted, they are actively searching for your topic, and they don’t have a clue what Adsense is or what affiliate links are. Plus, if you have done your research and are in the right niche, they are ready to spend money. These are the visitors you make money from.
So, what’s the lesson here?
Simple… Stop wasting your time posting to your blog just hoping someone will come read it. Or wasting even more of your time on digg, myspace, delicious, or any of the other social bookmarking and social networking sites that will bring you traffic but not the kind that will make you any money.
Instead, spend more time each day getting inbound links and working on other search engine optimization techniques. Use as much time as you can each day getting your website/blog ranked at the top of the search engines so you can bring in more of the type of visitors that will make you money.
Doing this one simple thing will greatly increase your chances of making money online so you can quit your job to become a full-time internet marketer and live the life you’ve always dreamed of. Now, stop wasting your time and start making money!

You are starting out with your home business amongst way too many people doing the same thing. You need to make a name for yourself or “brand”yourself. Your goal is to have your name and website associated with a certain niche. So how do you do it??
Post on business forums and do it now. This is one of the best ways to get people to see that you are knowledgeable and excited about your business. Post often and intelligently. Look for interesting threads where you can ask a good question or answer with a thoughtful response.
Use your full name as your username. Always be honest, helpful and possibly useful to someone who is reading the thread.
Keep in mind that people who are researching a home business will do many searches to seek legitimate businesses and will end up on a forum. They may not post at all but will read about things they are interested in and flock towards someone who seems the most trustworthy.
They are often seeking a mentor (whether they realize it at the time or not) and someone who will lead them in the right direction. I know this for a fact and have received many emails, calls and private messages from people who have read my posts in forums.
These people who are searching can be your best “targeted traffic” because they truly want to have a home business. You just have to show them the way.
