Work at Home Psychic Jobs – Are They for Real?

Work at home psychic jobs are very popular right now and the demand for more is growing all the time. But so is the competition for work from home psychic jobs. They are not easy to get. If you want to be one of the lucky people to actually get one of the few work at home psychic jobs available, you are going to have to be prepared.

The first step in landing one of the work at home psychic jobs is to actually be a psychic! Ok so I realize that most of the people who are working at home as a “psychic” aren’t actually able to read minds any better than the rest of us. So you can probably bypass this step. But if you do really have psychic powers then I would say you are a lock-in for getting a work at home psychic job. Just showcase your talents to the person hiring you and you are in.

But what if you really aren’t a psychic but want a work at home job as one? Well, that gets a little more complicated. You will need to have very good listening skills. You will need to be able to think quickly. You will need great communication skills. And overall quality people skills will be very helpful. You will also need to be able to lie to people without it weighing on your conscience. I know that sounds horrible to say but let’s be honest… most work at home psychics are basically just good liars!

There are also many traits that you need for any work at home job, whether it’s a work at home psychic job or not… You will need all five of the following traits:

1) Self Discipline – Having a work at home psychic job means that you won’t have a boss or co-workers to make sure you work. When you are the boss it is easy to slack off and not get any work done. You must discipline yourself to get your work done each day.

2) Routine – You cannot procrastinate! Once again you won’t have a boss or anyone to keep you on track. A luxury of these jobs is that you will probably get to choose your working hours. But you have to make sure you actually do work or you won’t have the job for long.

3) Persistence – People are always starting various projects but hardly anyone ever finishes what they start. Having a job as a psychic has a lot of benefits but first you have to get through all the hurdles in the beginning. It might be tough at times so you will need persistence to stick it out.

4) Education – You don’t need a college degree to get a work at home as a psychic. However, you will need to educate yourself on the industry and what’s expected of you. There’s going to be a lot of things you need to know about working at home as a psychic so make sure you get educated.

5) Enthusiasm – In order to be a good home psychic, you must enjoy doing it. If you are enthusiastic about it, you will have much more success getting clients and repeat customers. One of the main reasons for working at home is to do something you like so don’t get a work at home psychic job unless you are enthused about the opportunity.

Now its time to find a company to work for! So, where do you find work from home psychic jobs if you want one?

As with most jobs, you can search online or look in your local publications. You will most likely find many more job listings online. Search all the regular job sites or do a specific search on Google and Bing for “work at home psychic jobs” and other related searches. You can also search online directories and sites like Craigslist to find places that are hiring people for these types of jobs.

When you do find a psychic job opportunity from home that fits what you are looking for make sure the company is respectable and legitimate. It’s a good idea to check with the Better Business Bureau as well as several other online resources to check reviews and see if they have had complaints against them – either from customers, or the employees themselves.

Follow the information above and you should be a successful work at home psychic in no time! This can be a great alternative to an internet marketing business for the right person.

Lies… Damn Lies… And Statistics

Everybody lies. Okay, not everybody, but a lot of people do. Even if it’s only an exaggeration or little white lie, it’s still a lie. This is especially true when it comes to stats. You know the ones I’m talking about… conversions, sales, etc. So let me set the record straight on this subject so that those reading this understand what the real deal is and will take all these stats with a grain of salt.

Let’s start with traffic stats. I’m referring to visitors to your web site. Did you ever see these folks who claim to get tens of thousands of visitors to their sites everyday and you wonder how they do it? Well, what many of them don’t tell you is how worthwhile those visitors are. Many marketers will either buy worthless leads or hit the traffic exchanges and buy massive packages of clicks. Now don’t get me wrong, TEs can work great if you know how to use them, but most of these folks send their TE prospects to sales pages which is just a waste of time because nobody has time to read a full blown sales page. So traffic stats can be very misleading. How many of these people buy?

Then there is conversions. That’s how many people actually DO buy for every 100 clicks. You sometimes hear crazy conversion figures like 10 to 20 percent. What they don’t tell you is that these figures come from ads that were sent to highly targeted lists of previous buyers, so of course their conversion stats are going to be higher. You’re not likely going to see those kind of stats off of brand new leads.

And then of course you have sales figures. I made $1 million in sales this year. Yeah, but what they didn’t tell you is that they spent $900,000 in pay per click advertising to get those $1 million dollars worth of sales. Or paid out 75% to affiliates, or whatever. Yeah they still made a lot of money, but nothing near what they are claiming in most cases.

My point to all this is simple… Take what you read and what you hear with a grain of salt because people don’t always tell you the whole story behind their stats. Ultimately, this leads the prospect into a false sense of security when it comes to using the product or service that is supposed to “get” you those stats. Trust me, it isn’t that easy and isn’t always as it seems.

Lies, damn lies, and statistics. They’ll get you every time.

Take Responsibility For Your Own Business

Well, I’m going on a rant… yet again. I find it amazing that when people drop the ball when it comes to their own business, they always look for somebody else to blame. Well, you can look no further than your mirror because the person you’re staring at is the ONLY one to blame.

True story. A guy over at a forum where I hang out made a post about how his hosting company screwed up by not sending him an email about his domain renewal. As a result, the domain lapsed and he lost it. Well, I don’t mean to be a royal pain in the backside but there is only one person responsible for keeping track of when your domain comes up for renewal… you! Not only that but I have at least 100 domains at many different registrars and I’ve never not been sent MULTIPLE emails telling me my domain(s) is about to expire. I can’t believe there is a registrar out there that doesn’t send at least one reminder.

However, even if they didn’t send an expiration reminder, I have a spreadsheet with all my important pieces of info, including logins and passwords, domain renewal dates, commissions owed and due, and so on. I don’t leave anything to chance or in the hands of others. It’s my business and ultimately, I’m the one responsible for making sure that my business doesn’t crumble to dust because I forgot to watch over it.

It’s kind of like needing somebody to remind me to feed my kids or give my animals water. Well, duh! It isn’t anybody else’s responsibility to remind me to feed my kids or take care of my animals or business… or anything else in my life for that matter. Ultimately, I am the only one responsible. In other words… the buck stops here.

What about you? Do you take care of all the things you’re responsible for? Do you keep track of domain expirations? Do you track your commissions that are owed you? Yeah, I know it would be nice to have the merchants pay us on time, but when they don’t, it’s up to us to contact them and say, “Hey, what’s the deal? Where’s my money?” Nobody is going to do it for you, that’s for sure.

Show me a person who is very successful and I will show you somebody who takes care of his own business and doesn’t leave it to others or to chance. That’s a surefire way of losing your shirt.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I have some deadbeat merchants I have to get after for commissions that are owed to me.

Hey, somebody’s gotta do it.

Domains vs Free Blogs

There are many people who like to use free blogs not just for the enjoyment and personal satisfaction of writing down their thoughts and publishing them on the web, but also for Internet Marketing purposes in the pursuit of making money. Likewise, there are many people who prefer to buy their own domains and host them on a professional server, for much the same purpose.

So is one really better than the other?

As this is an Internet Marketing flavored blog, we’ll leave the bloggers who blog for enjoyments sake to their own and take a look at the advantages and disadvantages of the two options open to those that want to use these different outlets as vehicles for making money.

First up, lets take initial startup and running costs of the two sides of this debate.

A free blog will cost you zero dollars to acquire, zero dollars to set up and zero dollars to run. Ok, that’s pretty convincing for anyone without much cash to start their own online enterprise.

A hosted domain will cost you the price of buying and registering the domain, currently you can buy and register a .com for around $10 – $15. Then there’s the cost of hosting, although currently you can get good hosting for as little as $4.95 a month, although you might want to pay a little more and get a package with more features. Either way, you can easily find very good professional hosting for less than $10 a month. The only other running cost is the annual registration of the domain. So for an outlay in your first year of around $100 or so you can have all the benefits and control that a hosted account will give you. Even if you are short of cash, that is one expense that is easy enough to cover as the hosting part isn’t paid all in one go, but spread over 12 monthly payments.

So far so good. Now, lets look at the fringe benefits.

Free blogs have some pretty good, easy to use templates and are the simplest things set up and start writing. Ads are easy to include with Blogger blogs, although some platforms, notably WordPress won’t let you put any ads up at all.

A self hosted blog is also fairly straightforward to set up, with a huge selection of very high quality free templates and a lot of amazing premium themes. There is no problem over displaying ads – its your site so you can put up whatever you want.

Now lets look at the stickier point of control and ownership.

I’ve heard using free blogs as opposed to self hosted domains likened to the difference between renting an apartment and owning your own home. Nice comparison and it fits very well.

With a free blog, you’re only renting the space. If the owner (Blogger, for instance) decides they don’t like your face, they can at their discretion, suspend or even delete your blog. The content on that free blog may be yours in principle, but when it comes to what the search engines see, that content belongs to Blogger.

With a self hosted domain, you own that piece of cyberspace like its a piece of real estate. No one can take it away from you and the content is yours. If you’ve worked real hard on your site and gained a lot of authority, just like a home that you own you can sell that site with the domain for a hefty profit down the line.

With a free blog, as with a rented apartment, no matter how hard you work on it and how much authority and value it gets, you can never sell it.

There are other advantages and disadvantages to both, such as guaranteed uptime, storage space and bandwidth limits that self hosted beats free hosted hands down, but the main advantage of self hosted over free hosted has to be the real estate value, which, just as with the argument for renting or buying a property, you have to ask yourself this question. Do you want to control it as well as have the option to sell it down the line and profit from it?

I prefer to own my own home rather than rent. Likewise, I prefer to own my own cyber real estate too.

A Generic Look at the Top 5 Reasons to Work at Home

The amount of people deciding to work at home has been on the rise for several years and it increases much more with each new year. There’s about a million reasons why you many want, or need, to work at home, but here are five of the top reasons I have heard people give for deciding to work at home…

1) Gas Prices – It’s no secret to anyone with a car that the gas prices these days are ridiculously high. When you have to commute an hour to work each way, you can go broke just paying for gas. If you work at home you don’t have to worry about paying for gas just to get to work.

2) Pay Yourself – You aren’t limited by an hourly wage or yearly salary. The amount of money you make rests almost entirely within yourself and you can virtually write your own checks. With all the ways there are to make money online, you can do many things to make a living working at home and there are few limitations on the size of the income you can earn.

3) Freedom – When you work at home you have the freedom of working a schedule that you set. Don’t like to get up early? Fine just start working later in the day. Want to go to the beach today? Just pack your laptop and get some work done while soaking in the sun.

4) Family – One of the best benefits of working at home is that you get to spend much more time with your family. You aren’t away all day or night working at the office. You can finally have the quality time you have always wanted with your family.

5) Necessity – There are plenty of reasons why it is simply necessary to work at home. Maybe you have a disability that prevents you from going to a regular job. You might have to be at home to take care of the kids. It’s possible there aren’t any good jobs in your area. Or any of about a thousand other reasons why it is necessary for you to work at home.

That is by no means and exhaustive list of the reasons for working at home. There are countless reasons why working at home might be for you and it’s possible that none of your reasons are even on the above list. That’s ok. We each have our own reasons for doing things. What’s important is that you have made the decision to improve your quality of life and start doing something that you enjoy!
